Carharrack AFC was established in 1965 and in 1970 the football club merged with the Men’s Institute to become part of the Carharrack Sports Club setup, using Carharrack Sports and Social club as their headquarters as it does today.
Since those early days there have been many ‘highs and lows’ including being the first side to win the Mining League Treble in 1999.
Carharrack AFC currently fields a first and reserve side, playing at our ground down in Ting Tang and Clijah Croft.
Last season, they were often praised for their attractive football and sportsmanship. Firm believers in playing football in the best traditions, this season they are hoping to build on last years and challenge for promotion.
Currently, the first team are doing well, the top goal scorer being striker Liam Bray with 15. I will hopefully be reporting good news in the next edition.
Carharrack AFC will like to personally thank all those generous sponsors for this season especially Mr Regan Matthews of Bathroom Solutions for the kind donation of a new football kit.
There are just a few more advertising board spaces left down at our ground and if you are interested in having your business advertising board, charged at a reasonable price of £30 per season down at the pitch, please contact Rich Chown on 07900 581174 for further details. The cost of running a local community side increases each year and having advertising income really helps to run the sides.
The ground is by far one of the best in the league if not the county, so why not pop down and take in a game one Saturday afternoon to support the team. I would like to say you will not be disappointed but as the saying goes “Football is a funny old game!”
If you know any Beckhams or Ronneys, they are more than welcome to come to our training nights as we are always on the look out for new players to bolster our sides.
